Adam Murray provided Movement and Choreography for Disney and Marc Platt’s live-action prequel Cruella, playing a key creative role in shaping the film’s distinctive physical identity. Working in close collaboration with director Craig Gillespie, the cast, and all major creative departments, Adam translated character psychology and narrative intent into a bold, expressive physical language, ensuring movement and gesture became an essential storytelling tool.
A significant part of his work involved collaborating directly with legendary costume designer Jenny Beavan, bringing her intricate, sculptural designs to life through movement that enhanced their drama, functionality, and screen presence. By integrating costume, character, and choreography, Adam helped create visually striking, memorable moments that defined the film’s tone and style.
This physical language not only informed on-screen performances but also extended into the dynamic marketing and promotional imagery of the film, reinforcing Cruella’s iconic visual impact beyond the screen.
Cruella was released on May 28, 2021 by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
